Ride Across Canada for CVF
Communities for Veterans Foundation – The Ride Across Canada is a roughly 200 day horseback ride from Victoria, BC to Newfoundland by former Calgary Highlander and veteran Paul Nichols, his wife Terry and as many other veteran guest riders from along the way as possible.
This project is about Canada's communities coming together with her veterans to create awareness about the contributions made by our country's veterans and to encourage discussion about the challenges that they can face at home when transitioning back into the world of civilians (family breakups, mental illness and PTSD).
Communities will have an opportunity to show their appreciation to veterans who have improved their lives and, by the time the horses reach the Atlantic coast, over 700 Canadian Veterans' stories will have been heard and shared.
All funds over and above the cost of executing the ride will be donated to organizations and programs that provide support for veterans and their families.
