Ride for Dad - Back Your Brother
September is Men’s Health Awareness Month. A time when we try to focus the country on the number one diagnosed men’s cancer in Canada—prostate cancer. It’s only one month, but the fight against prostate cancer is a year-round struggle as is the challenge of raising funds to support that fight.
The Ride For Dad has been fighting this battle for almost 15 years, and when we started the question was simple, if we don’t look after our “brothers” who will? So we commit. Commit to continue the fight for our fathers, brothers, sons and all who hold them dear.
A recent poll of our participants revealed an incredible statistic: 56% joined our fight without being personally affected by the disease. Clearly our riders get it. In this fight, all men are our brothers and we have their back!
The Ride For Dad is issuing a limited edition line of clothing that spells it out plainly—Back Your Brother.
Show your support in this campaign and buy a shirt today – they’ll only be available for sale until September 30!
Proceeds of these shirts benefit The Ride For Dad’s fight against prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian men. It generally affects men over 40. Successful treatment depends on early detection. In the longer term, research into improved diagnosis, treatment and prevention will further improve our capacity to deal with this disease. If you’re a man over 40, give yourself a fighting chance, talk to your doctor about getting checked.
